Maternity care Amstelveen

Maternity care in Amstelveen: personal care for you and your baby

You are pregnant, or perhaps your little one is already on the way. A special time, when above all you want to know that you will be in good hands. I am Yasmina, a maternity care assistant and the owner of Kraamzorg Yasmina, and I care for families throughout Amstelveen during the postnatal period. Not a large agency with a different face every time, but one dedicated contact who really gets to know you and your family, from our first meeting during your pregnancy to the last day of your maternity week.

What does a maternity care assistant do?

After a home birth, an outpatient birth or a birth in the Ziekenhuis Amstelland, I take over the care at your home. In the first eight to ten days I check the temperature of mother and baby every day, look after your baby’s umbilical cord and keep an eye out for signs that the midwife needs to know about, such as jaundice. I also make sure that the heel prick test and the hearing test take place on time. I help you get started with breastfeeding or bottle feeding and, if needed, I call in a lactation consultant. In addition, I bring calm into your home: I support you in caring for your baby, prepare breakfast or lunch if needed and help with light household tasks around mother and baby.

Maternity care with understanding for your language and culture

Amstelveen is an international city, and for many families it makes a big difference when their maternity care assistant truly understands their background. Coming from an Islamic background myself, I know the customs and wishes that can be important around the birth. In addition to Dutch, I speak Arabic and Berber (Tarifit), so you feel fully understood in your own language. For many parents, this personal and cultural connection is exactly the reason to choose Kraamzorg Yasmina.

Sign up for maternity care in Amstelveen

As a self-employed maternity care assistant, I deliberately work with a limited number of families at a time, which is why signing up early is important. The sooner you register, the greater the chance that I will be available around your due date. So please sign up as early as the first trimester if you can; then you are assured of a place and we have plenty of time for a personal intake meeting. You can sign up via the sign-up form on the website, or feel free to call or email me with your questions. I look forward to meeting you.
